Learning trip to Underwater World on 21st December 2011 :)

Going for a field trip to the Underwater World can be an exciting moment for the children as they can learn and have fun with the parents at the same time. As our children were ready and set to go to the Underwater World, we boarded the bus and went to our destination.
Pictures were captured during the journey to the Underwater World. Parents and children were happy and looking forward to the enriching learning trip to the Underwater World!

Upon arrival, parents and children were brought to a room to listen to a sea life talk conducted by the underwater world officer.

The speaker talked about the different fishes that could be found in the Underwater World. He showed the audience the fish anatomy and shared about the specialty of some fishes. Pictures were shown during the presentation and there was also interactive sharing between the speaker and the parent as well as the children.

After the speaker has ended his presentation, a talk was conducted by the teachers to let parents know about the Effective Parent-child communication. Teachers shared ways in which the parents can better communicate with the children during the field trip at the Underwater World and how it can be applied in their daily lives when they were with their children.

Next, the parents were brought to the Touch Pool station where they had the opportunity to touch and feel the marine life in the touch pool. Before they were allowed to move around on their own, the teacher briefed them on the right way to communicate to their children to encourage them who are afraid to touch the marine life.

After the parents and children had finished experiencing the Touch Pool station, they went to proceed to the ocean colony for fish feeding session.

Here comes the Santa claus man ready to feed the hungry fishes in the ocean colony. Look at how fast the fishes came to him to get the food of the day. Large fishes came around him and were waiting to be fed.

Parents were amazed as they looked at the fishes during feeding time. Furthermore, the person feeding the fishes was dressed in Santa claus costume! Parents captured the moments by taking few shots as they watched the man feed the fish.

It was already twelve o’clock in the afternoon. It was time for the parents and children to have their lunch. They assembled at the dolphin lagoon to have their lunch. Food and water were served by the teachers.

Once they had their lunch, parents were given activity sheets to do together with their child. Class teachers also were moving around to help to facilitate the session.
