Blooming with Books, 25th May 2012
On 25th May 2012, a number of our parents turned up for a talk conducted by our principal
Mrs Loh which focused on the importance of bonding through reading. Parents were listening attentively to the useful tips and the different ways to improve bonding. It was a fruitful session for all.
Mrs Loh was explaining on how bonding can be built through reading
Parents were very supportive and were giving their utmost attention to the talk.
After the talk, it was time for the parents to view the displays at the various mini exhibition booths set up by all of the teachers in My First Skool Jurong. Based on this year's KIC theme "Cooperation", children created various artworks and artefacts like big books, collage works and 3D models to portray their understanding on the theme.
Parents were busy looking at the showcases.
Hmm. What was documented here? :P
Mrs Loh was explaining to the parents how they could create big books at home with their children as well. As children were inspired to create their very own big books, this could influence their interest in reading! :)
Parents could also make a beautiful collage work like in the picture shown above to improve on bonding together with their children.
"Ahhh! A very big storm is coming! Come Reyshaun let's hide under this umbrella-like cave!" exclaimed Rexanne to her brother.
